YoBay, as he is known by his friends, is actually Robert Ince, owner of Robert Ince Jewelers. Robert is a well-respected designer of precious gem & metal jewelry. Robert designs and creates his one-of-a-kind pieces out of his store in Reno, Nevada.
Robert’s artistic career began in 1955 when as a young man he began working under his father’s guidance as an apprentice jeweler. After graduation from high school, he went to work for his father’s jewelry store as a full-time jewelry repairman. His artistic attributes soon drove him into designing jewelry rather than repairing it. After his father’s store closed in 1972, Robert opened his own store, “Robert Ince Jewelers.” In the 60’s and 70’s Robert was heavily involved in motorcycles, drag boats, and rock-n-roll.
These hobbies would later have a great influence on his designs. Throughout the 70’s he created custom designed pieces for such stars as Debbie Reynolds, Jimmy Dean, Red Skelton, Andy Williams, Ginger Rogers, George Linsey, & Roy Clark. Many other custom pieces were created for stars performing at Harrah’s Club and John Asquaga’s Nugget. Since starting his career, Robert has Custom designed pieces ranging from sterling silver belt buckles for the winners of the Virginia City Grand Prix Motorcycle Race, to Platinum skull and crossbones necklaces for local clients. The last few years have influenced Robert’s design skills in the direction of rock-n-roll. As a result he has began to design pieces with a biker, tattoo, gothic, & rockstar flavor. His favorites include designing skulls, crosses, iron crosses, fleur de lis, hearts, stars, crowns, roses, and other wearable accessories. However, Robert is not limited to this style, he has also created many one-of-a-kind wedding sets and fine custom pieces. Anything you can think of, he can build! Robert is still very active in the business and welcomes you to check out his pieces on hand or challenge his designing skills with an idea of your own.
